(Alternate title: Stop! Grammar Time!)
One of my most popular posts of all time is the post where I hash out the correct punctuation for couples shower. Who knew there were others out me who were that concerned with that little apostrophe?
So, which is it:
Couple’s Shower
Couples’ Shower
Couples Shower
Any guesses? Bueller?
Couple’s shower implies a shower belonging to one couple. Nope!
Couples’ shower implies a shower belonging to many couples. Forever, I thought this was most correct.
Couples shower uses the word couples as a descriptor, rather than a possessive. Ding! Ding! Ding!
What are your grammar hang-ups?
I'm talented when it comes to grammar., but I'm a punctuation savant.
