I’m a loyalist of sorts. I don’t often stray from the norm–even if I’m not sure why or how the norm was put into play.
So then, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold fast to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter. –2 Thessalonians 2:15
This week at HEB, they had every sandwich scenario imaginable linked to a coupon: buy bread, get meat; buy meat, get mayonnaise; a bread showdown (buy the competitor, get their bread free); tuna; cheese; pretzels–literally every scenario for a lunch box was covered. I had several of the coupon items on my list already, so I finagled it around to get the best deal. The extras could be added to my weekly donation.
One of the freebies came with a bit of a traitor feeling:
Yep, Hellman’s. I’m sure that’s not really a big deal, but I have never–not once–bought any other mayo than Kraft. So, I branched out. I even tried it once I got it home. Guess what–it tastes like mayonnaise!
I'm a brand loyalist too. Unless God Himself told me to switch, I'd never eat any other mayo than Duke's. Just. Can't. Do. It.
I actually just heard about Duke's a few days ago. I will have to try it.
