(continued from yesterday)
And on this day four years ago, we found ourselves still waiting on a baby.
About 7:00 am, we prayed and prepared to go ahead and get an epidural. They were going to start Pitocin to help with the progress, and my body was already so exhausted that I didn’t think I could do the Pitocin without the epidural. It wasn’t part of my plan, but it was part of the beautiful story that got this boy into the world (don’t let me fool you, this was a very hard pill for me to swallow; read more here).
Once we decided the epidural was a go, we joked a little with the Aggie anesthesiologist, then we both got some much needed rest while my body and the pitocin worked. I don’t really remember when or how I woke up, just that I was rejuvenated and in a much better place than I had been before the epidural that allowed me a nap. Soon enough, it was time to push, and at 2:27pm, our sweet, no-name baby boy entered the world.
It didn’t take long to get a name that fit perfectly and begin life as a family of three. We haven’t looked back since. Little boy, we love you more than you’ll ever know. Thank you for the joy, laughter, love, and lessons you bring to our life. Let’s celebrate!
